Arm & Hammer Clump and Seal with MicroGuard Cat Litter Review

Advertised Product Description

This is our Arm & Hammer Clump and Seal With MicroGuard Cat Litter Review.  Arm & Hammer Clump and Seal With MicroGuard Cat Litter Review is a relatively new litter offered by Arm & Hammer that attempts to put a twist on traditional clay litters with the inclusion of their MicroGuard technology.  This new features is designed to not only fight odor but also seal and prevent it from growing for up to 7 days.  Arm & Hammer also believes that they are able to achieve this while still maintaining solid clumping and a product that will be comfortable for cats to use.  It is available in 14, 19, and 28-pound boxes.

Who This Cat Litter is Intended For

This cat litter is designed for those who have struggled with keeping odor in check for extended periods of time.  There are plenty of litters designed to seal of odor but not all of them do an adequate job of keeping it sealed for multiple days after.  This is primarily due to moisture being able to escape which is a haven for bacteria to grow on (one of the main contributors to odor).  This litter is also good for those who want more advanced odor control but want to stick to conventional clay formulas and their inherently good clumping ability.

What Makes This Cat Litter Unique

This cat litter is unique primarily because of its MicroGuard technology.  This is a totally new approach to us and we are always excited to see cat litter companies try new things.  Historically, crystal cat litters really stood out in their ability to not only lock in odor but keep in locked in.  Arm & Hammer is trying to change the game here with this product and we hope to see more other products similar to it in the future.

Clumping Ability –

The clumps that form with this product are quite hard and should stay hard for a decent period of time.  The inclusion of baking soda hurts the hardness of clumps some but the MicroGuard features seem to more than make up for it.  The result is clumps that are among the hardest that you will experience with Arm & Hammer cat litters.  This aspect also makes this product great for multi-cat households or for cat litter boxes that can’t be constantly monitored due to a busy schedule.

Scent –

There is a “fresh scent” associated with this product but it is very faint and should not bother those owners or cats with sensitive allergies.  This is in stark contrast to some of the other Clump and Seal products out there which can sometimes have somewhat overpowering perfume smells.  This may be because of the MicroGuard technology that performs better than standard baking soda.  As for how it controls odors, we were very impressed.  Most of the baking soda and clay hybrid litters do a good job of handling odors early on but can struggle after a few days.  That wasn’t the case here.  The cat odors locked in and stayed locked in for 4 or 5 days before we smell even the faintest smell.  It is also strong enough to handle two cat litter boxes.

Messiness –

The clumps that are formed stay quite hard and should be easy to dispose of without too big of a mess.  Dust levels are also a bigger concern with clay litters and they are about average here.  The litter itself is a bit smaller than some of the other clays on the market so if you have a cat that is notorious for kicking a lot of litter around while in their box you may have to deal with some minor tracking but it isn’t anything extreme.

Value –

Prices vary some but we have seen a lot of them in the mid-priced range.  This is also very similar to many of Arm & Hammer’s other products and, considering the performance, is perfectly reasonable.

Overall Rating –

Arm & Hammer Clump and Seal With MicroGuard Cat Litter takes a refreshing take on dealing with odors with their new technology that literally locks in odors and keeps them locked for up to a week.  Compared to other clay litters on the market, this product performs better than most in handling cat waste smells and does so without sacrificing clumping ability or having to utilize harsh and off-putting perfume scents.  You may have to deal with some minor tracking and dust levels but that is really the only complaint here.  Given the great performance you will enjoy, the asking price is also very fair.  We highly encourage you to check this cat litter out if you have been struggling with odor control.
