Advertised Product Description
This is our Ever Clean Everfresh Cat Litter Review. Ever Clean EverFresh with Activated Charcoal Unscented cat litter contains charcoal that is bonded directly to the litter itself. This helps to eliminate any odors that might arise and holds them at the surface. The clay granules contained in this product are also larger than usual which helps to reduce tracking while still being highly absorbent. The fragrance-free recipe is good for cats and owners who might have allergies or be sensitive to certain smells. It is available in 25-pound boxes.
Who This Cat Litter is Intended For
This product is targeted to people who have had issues with tracking while using other cat litters and are ready for a change. However, they still expect good clumping and odor control, while not being overly concerned about trying out some exotic materials in doing so. Typically this will be used by people with a single-cat household or that have multiple litter boxes for their multiple cats. Finally, they are willing to pay a premium price for this product, even if it involves sticking with a conventional clay litter.
What Makes This Cat Litter Unique
This cat litter is unique in that it tries to tackle the common problem that exists with clay-based cat litters: high tracking and dust levels. By implementing a unique larger granule size Ever Clean is confident that they have made a product that will reduce tracking but will still have good odor control and clumping.
Clumping Ability –
This litter has excellent clumping ability. The clumps harden very quickly and are easy to dispose of. The large clay granules seem to soak up any moisture nearly instantly and stay rock-hard for days at a time. Also, the moisture stays near the top of the box, which means that cleaning doesn’t involve digging around trying to find the waste. It is right up top and easy to identify and dispose of! The clumps tend to be on the larger size, however, so you might go through a box of this somewhat quickly, especially in a busy litter box.
Scent –
There is very little scent associated with this litter. A modest clay smell is all you have to expect, but that is pretty typical of this material. It also does a good job of masking cat waste scent and does so for long periods, meaning you don’t have to remove the clumps immediately to enjoy the benefits of locked-in odor. This likely has to do with the activated charcoal contained in the granules. It makes us wish more brands would take advantage of this feature.
Messiness –
The large granules mean there is plenty of absorption and very little concern of the litter degrading to a sticky paste that gets everywhere. The size of them also means it is very difficult for your cat to accidentally track them outside of the box, which is the primary selling point that Ever Clean pushes with this product. There can be a bit of dust, however, but we will take some dust over sticky messes and litter all over the room any day.

Overall Rating –
The Ever Clean Everfresh Cat Litter Review earns 4 cats out of 5. This litter performs wonderfully and the clumping could not be better, especially for single-cat boxes. This, coupled with the charcoal feature, also translates to great odor control all the while having minimal messiness. However, it is a quite expensive product. We aren’t saying the price isn’t justified because it is a great product, but for some taking a slight hit in quality for 50% less money might be a more attractive option.
