This is a listing of all Healthy Pet cat litters that have been reviewed and we also list what we think are the best Healthy Pet cat litters with our internal ranking system.  Healthy Pet is a premium cat litter line that focuses on offering products that push the envelope in regards to being natural.  Specifically, their various offerings fall under the title “ökocat”.

These products are made out of unique materials such as wood chips and paper and offer unique benefits that conventional clay cat litters don’t have.  Also, they have decided to span into niche markets such as litters that are made for cats with sensitive paws and examples that are best used for long-haired cat varieties.

These benefits and their decision to be all-natural does come at some costs, however.  Some of these materials may not be as effective at clumping and may also introduce unique tracking situations.  Either way, we recommend you give one of their products a go and see if they work for you, especially if you are someone who is more environmentally conscious.

All About Nature

Healthy Pet has a specialized approach to litter in that all of their products are targeted towards being nature-friendly.  In other words, they are made of natural products and are also biodegradable and easily disposed of. Wood, paper, corn, and many other natural ingredients are used in the making of their litters.

Many of their products are also capable of being flushed down the toilet without causing issues!  This is a refreshing approach, considering a majority of litters on the market are clay.  It is always good when you can have adequate performance while being better for the environment.

Lightweight and Easily Moved

Another benefit of using components such as wood and paper is that their products are extremely lightweight, particularly when compared to conventional litters made of clay and crystal.  The lighter package means an easier time for you moving and transporting the litter, whether you are moving the box from your car to your house or emptying a full litter box.  And don’t let the light weight fool you: there can be just as much relative litter in a lightweight package as there is in a heavier one, and the performance attributes can also be the same or even better!

Long-Lasting Performance

Using wood and paper components has another hidden pro in that they typically can last much longer for a given batch than other more typical types of litter material.  Healthy Pet exclaims that their products can last 4 to 6 weeks in a normal traffic litter box!  This is quite impressive and means that you spend less time and money worrying about cat litter.

Acceptable Odor Control

This company believes that the built-in power found in natural ingredients is all that is needed to lock away cat odors for days at a time.  They don’t feel the need to utilize harsh fragrances or rock-hard clumping to meet the job.  That is another way that Healthy Pet stands out from its competition because many rely on additional fragrances to make their litter work, particularly in multi-cat applications.

Super Impressive Absorption

Healthy Pet advertises that their litter is capable of up to 500X absorption!  What this means is that their litter is capable of absorbing up to 500 times its weight in fluid.  In this case, the fluid being mentioned comes in the form of stinky cat waste.  By absorbing it, it is helping to lock away the odors.  This level of absorption also backs up their claims mentioned above of lasting 4 to 6 weeks.  You won’t find this kind of moisture retention levels in most other litter products on the market.

Reasonably Priced

Breaking the mold and going at things from an all-natural approach can often come at the expense of performance and most importantly cost.  Many of the eco-friendly products on the market are extremely expensive, making it hard to justify spending all the extra cash for something that isn’t quite as harsh on the environment.  Healthy Pet takes the worry out of this by having several products that are very conveniently priced and should fall well within the budget of most people.
