This is our Nature’s Miracle Just for Cats Natural Pine Cat Litter Review. Nature’s Miracle Just for Cats Natural Pine cat litter is advertised as being a viable source of odor-fighting while avoiding the use of dyes or clay additives. This is accomplished through the use of natural pine granules that are kiln-dried to help reduce fungi, mold, and bacteria while quickly absorbing moisture. Also, the Bio-Enzymatic Odor Control System helps to destroy feces, urine, and ammonia odors on contact, all the while having fast clumping ability. This product is available in an 8-pound bag.
Who This Cat Litter is Intended For
This cat litter is targeted towards cats and owners who for whatever reason have either had issues with other litter materials such as clay and crystal or simply want to try something different (in this case pine granules). Also, this product is intended for someone who is interested in going a more eco-friendly route but doesn’t want to give up clumping ability. Typically this will work best in a single-cat household or one that has slower litter traffic. Finally, this is directed towards owners who are willing to pay a premium price for a product that works.
What Makes This Cat Litter Unique
This cat litter is unique because it attempts to combine two things that aren’t normally related: pine and clumping. Also, it attempts to utilize the natural odor-fighting ability and scent of wood to help combat foul cat waste smells instead of injecting their granules with powerful perfumes or a variety of potentially harsh chemicals. We always find it interesting when a litter manufacturer tries to do something out of the box all the while making it better for the environment.
Clumping Ability –
Despite being advertised as clumping, this product does a pretty poor job of it. The clumps are just little rolled up spheres that easily fall apart and are hard to identify and pick up. When you can see one and try to remove it they easily fall apart and make a mess.
We guess this is the price you pay for going with something natural like pine as opposed to one of the more conventional materials like clay. This matter because very bad if the litter box has multiple cats as they will tend to accidentally break apart each other’s clumps while they are using the litter box.
Scent –
The litter itself does have a refreshing pine tree smell that most cats don’t seem to mind. Unfortunately, this item struggles with masking the cat odors. Rather than cover them up, it just sort of blends with them and makes a pine tree + urine smell or a pine tree + feces smell. This is likely a combination of the less-than-stellar odor-blocking ability of pine plus the fact that a lot of the waste is exposed to the air due to the poor clumping ability. This means that you either have to remove the semi-hard masses very quickly or deal with constant odors in the air.
Messiness –
Things can get a bit messy with this litter if you are trying to maintain the box rather than just dump the entire contents out every week or so. Since the clumps are very weak and sometimes non-existent then you can mix around the waste rather easily. This can make it burdensome to remove waste and it also causes it to stick to the walls and even your cat. There is relatively little dust with this product which is nice, however, and tracking is about average other than when it sticks to your cat from not retaining the waste in itself.
Value –
This product has been seen to run in the premium-price tier online. This is extremely high considering what it is made of and its overall performance.
Overall Rating –
Nature’s Miracle Just for Cats Natural Pine Cat Litter Review earns 1.5 out of 5 stars. This litter misses the mark, unfortunately. The clumping is severely lacking, it has some glaring odor control problems, and the decision to use pine can result in quite a mess. To top it off, it is priced as being one of the premium litters on the market. We understand the desire to go with a more eco-friendly medium but it just doesn’t work here.
