Huge Range of Litter Choices
One thing you will quickly realize about Precious Cat is just how impressive their array of products really is. Not only do they have a lot of different products, but their products span a wide variety of applications and target audiences. No matter if you have a single cat or multi-cat household, a kitten or an older cat, a short-haired pet or a long-haired pet, or if there are any particular materials or ingredients that you or your cat might not enjoy, Precious Cat likely has a product that is perfect for you.
This wasn’t by some stroke of luck. It is apparent that this company has done a lot of research to determine what needs various pet owners have, and in response, they have made a host of solutions that really do a great job of encompassing just about everyone. We are used to seeing “normal” specialty products such as those intended for multiple cat litter boxes or those with allergies, but creating long-haired and respiratory relief products is definitely a refreshing approach.
Many Types of Materials
Going along with their litter range mentioned above, Precious Cat offers their array of products with a nice variety of core materials. They, of course, have their traditional clay litters but they have also created a unique examples such as silica gel and even grass! The fact that they are willing to branch outside the norm a bit shows us that they have a good grasp of what it takes to stand out from the competition.
Furthermore, they orient the materials they use around their intended audience. Their long-haired cat product, for instance, utilizes silica gel since it is much less likely to catch on to cat hair. Their kitten litter uses smaller granule sized clay as it is typically more comfortable on the developing paws of a kitten. There are tons of examples just like these that show that Precious Cat knows what they are doing.
Plenty of Options on Product Sizes
Precious Cat offers up one of the, if not the largest range of product sizes we have come across in reviewing. They go from tiny bags that weight under 8 pounds to colossal bags that are over 50 pounds. This is great for everyone as someone with a single cat might not want to lug a huge and heavy bag of cat litter around while someone with a multiple cat household might find going with a larger bag more economical and convenient. Even within a given type of one of their products, there is typically a pretty nice range of sizes to choose from.
Putting Clumping Towards the Top
While Precious Cat does offer some non-clumping varieties, their litters that retain clumping ability can really excel at it. The clay that this company uses in many of its products is very good, and it can result in clumps that are very hard and stay hard. This makes it easier to retain cat odors and also easier to remove when litter box maintenance is necessary. So for those who like to keep things conservative and go with a basic litter. Precious Cat still has you covered.
You will also see that some Precious Cat’s products are often well into the most affordable price tier. This makes them great for those who are on a tight pet budget and might not be able to afford the more expensive premium or even mid tiers. However, despite being an affordable option, many of their products don’t skimp on quality and still meet or exceed most people’s expectations for a cat litter, regardless of price.

Precious Cat Ultra
This product really does well across the board. The clumping is some of the best we have come across and it does an above average job of locking in odors as well. And all of this comes in at a fantastic price. This is a great product to look into, whether you are on a tight budget or not. It is available in 18, 40, and 80-pound bags and 40-pound boxes, is comprised of clay, and is available in the budget-price tier.
Pros: Some of the best clumping out there, handles both feces and urine odors for several days, mostly dust-free, fantastic price
Cons: Can be overwhelmed by moisture, caking can be an issue
Precious Cat Cat Attract
A great product that really fires on all cylinders. The maintenance requirements of this litter are tiny, making it great for those on the go. In addition, it can handle a lot of urine and feces before concern of odor escaping become an issue. And all of this for a great price. It is available in 20-pound bags and boxes and 40-pound bags, is comprised of clay, and is available in the budget-price tier.
Pros: Great hard clumps, will hide cat odor for several days, very low-maintenance and cleanup, great price
Cons: Clumps can be a bit heavy
Precious Cat R&R Respiratory Relief Clumping Clay
This product does quite well except for the rather unpleasant litter smell. If you can deal with the scent you will be very impressed with how long this product can lock in cat odors. Then when you consider its great price it makes this a sure buy for most people. It is available in 20-pound boxes, is comprised of clay, and is available in the budget-price tier.
Pros: Fantastic clumping, essentially no dust, easy clump removal, great price
Cons: Quite stinky litter
Precious Cat Ultra Scented
The definite strong point of this product comes with the great clumping. However, the litter smell is a bit too intense and the online price for this litter is a good bit higher than some of the other Precious Cat products, so we had to bump the rating down a bit. Still a solid choice for most applications. It is available in 20 and 40-pound bags and boxes, is comprised of clay, and is available in the mid to premium-priced areas.
Pros: Awesome clumping, better than average at stopping cat smells, little dust
Cons: Litter scent can be a bit much, somewhat expensive for a clay litter
Precious Cat Classic
The standard and popular offering from Precious Cat, it does meet most requirements that you look for. However, we recommend keeping it for single-cat boxes. It would also be nicer if it was a bit cheaper. It is available in 18, 40, and 54-pound bags, is comprised of clay, and is available in the mid to premium-price tiers.
Pros: Extremely hard clumps, little smell comes out from either litter or cat waste, pretty easy to clean
Cons: Moisture can sometimes overwhelm box, very large clumps
Precious Cat Kitten Attract
This product does an acceptable job of handling kitten waste. The only major complaint is the price, which can be a bit high If you are willing to pay the occasional premium for it, you shouldn’t be too disappointed. It is available in 20-pound cartons, is comprised of clay, and is available in the mid-price category.
Pros: Product lasts for a while, locks away odor for several days, easy clump removal
Cons: Minor dust issue
Precious Cat Long Haired
This is one of the most expensive non-clumping litters on the market. This is simply the cost of admission when you go with some of the more exotic materials such as silica gel. However, if your cat has long hair and has struggled with other litters you might not have a choice. The odor control is very good, but it does track a bit too much for our liking. It is available in 8-pound jugs, is comprised of silica gel, and is available in the premium price tier.
Pros: Does not stick to cat fur even on long-haired cats, acceptable litter smell
Cons: Can be a messy cleanup, cat smells are easily kicked up, very expensive
Precious Cat R&R Respiratory Relief Silica Gel
The cost of this litter is quite high, and for that you are paying for the medicinal benefits of it. At least that is what we are telling ourselves because it does have some issues in regards to odor control. For someone who doesn’t have a cat that has these specific respiratory problems, we don’t recommend that you spend this kind of money on what is honestly an average at best offering. It is available in 7.5-pound bags, is comprised of silica gel, and is available in the premium price category.
Pros: Very little litter smell, decent odor control, no dust
Cons: Urine can easily overwhelm, extremely expensive
Precious Cat Senior
The high price is the only thing that really stands out to us with this product. For the benefits it has for older cats, you might be willing to look over the relatively poor odor control and high dust levels. However, unless your cat absolutely needs those features there are much better choices on the market. It is available in 8-pound bags, is comprised of silica gel, and is available in the premium-price area.
Pros: No overpowering litter smell, gentle for older cats
Cons: Poor clumping, struggles with feces odors after a couple days, can be messy during cleanup, expensive
Precious Cat Touch of Outdoors
The litter is very messy, and on top of that, it really struggles with making hard clumps and controlling cat waste odors in general. We appreciate the attempt to go with something more natural such as prairie grasses but unfortunately, they just don’t hold up to the rigors of a litter box. It is available in 20-pound boxes and 40-pound bags, is comprised of grass, and is available in the mid-priced area.
Pros: Enjoyable natural litter smell, handles feces odors quite well
Cons: Struggles with clumping, urine can easily overwhelm it, grass is easily tracked
