UltraPet Ultra Micro Crystals cat litter are specially designed with very small crystals that can give an almost sand-like texture to the litter box while still maintaining great odor control and high moisture absorption. This is accomplished by the use of small silica gel beads that take up 70% less landfill contribution than conventional clay litters. Also, this product is advertised as being 99% dust-free. Who This Cat Litter is Intended For
This product is intended for owners that typically have a single cat who has not been happy with the performance of more standard litter materials such as clay or that have issues with the fumes and dust that these litters often put out. Also, they aren’t interested in removing clumps from their litter box. This product is also good for cats who have sensitive paws or who have struggled to enjoy harder clay and wood materials. What Makes This Cat Litter Unique

Clumping Ability – N/A
This product is not intended to clump. Rather you are expected to remove the feces promptly. A majority of the moisture from both the cat waste solids and urine will be absorbed by the litter, which means that you don’t have to worry about a gooey, pasty mess. It can also be used with an automatic litter box.
Scent – 
This product has a very subtle scent to it but is not at all overpowering. More importantly, it does a great job of sealing in the strong cat odors despite not utilizing a clumping feature. By “drying out” the waste, it is sapping it of its odor-causing ability and this effect stays for several days.
With the use of an automatic litter box or timely removal of the larger waste, the only main concern is when the box is overpowered by urine at which time you simply dump the entire box and start again. Keep in mind this is when being used by a single cat. If you try to apply this to busier litter boxes expect the urine issue to be more noticeable.
Messiness – 
Since these beads are quite small and light, they can get kicked around very easily. They have almost a sand-like consistency to them and when your cats walk in it or move it around some will likely be kicked out, resulting in dozens (or more) of these little hard beads landing on your carpet or floor.
Also, since they are so lightweight they can easily stick to your cat’s fur or paws. Dust, however, is not a huge concern. Cleanup is not bad, either, despite there being no clumping involved since the product dries out waste to the point where it is not very soft yet still easily identifiable. And when the box is exhausted simply dump it out and refill.
Value – 
Average online prices for this product typically are well into the premium-priced tier. No surprises here as crystal cat litters always fetch a high premium.
