Advertised Product Description
This is our Arm & Hammer Clump & Seal Naturals Cat Litter Review. Arm & Hammer Clump & Seal Naturals Cat Litter is a relatively new offering that promises an impressive 7-day odor control. Proprietary sealing components back this claim, and this litter also gets the “Naturals” seal since all ingredients are naturally-derived. These ingredients primarily consist of wood fibers, minerals, plant-based clumping agents, and baking soda. The usage of these is also advertised as resulting in a dust-free experience. This product is available in an 8-pound bag.
Who This Cat Litter is Intended For
This product is directed towards people who are trying to stick to a more nature-friendly approach for their cat litter but still demand adequate clumping and odor control, which can oftentimes be a weak point of all-natural solutions. Also, it is directed towards families that have multiple cats or have particularly busy litter boxes. Finally, this is good for people who are somewhat watching their budget, with the price being about average.
What Makes this Cat Litter Unique
This product is unique in that it promises so many things while sticking to an all-natural approach, which can be a very difficult thing to achieve. Being made of wood and plants (instead of clay) while offering up 7-day odor control, great clumping, and being optimized for multi-cat environments makes this product stand out from the promises of its competitors.
Clumping Ability –
Overall this product does a good job of clumping. Clumps form nice tight balls that are easy to dispose of and stay quite hard. This is especially true early on in usage. However, as the time approaches the “7-day” window that is promised, the performance does go down a little bit, which is to be expected. That being said, it is still a viable litter even after a week, and the fact that they are willing to defend their week-long claim shows that it is a good product.
Scent –
There is a subtle perform scent to this product as well as a more “natural” scent that is put out by the wood chippings. Overall most seem to not mind the smell and many actually prefer it over the heavy artificial smell that many other litters have. In terms of locking in cat smells this does a good job of it all the way through the promised 7-day window. After that, the scents can start to be an issue (similar to clumping) so it is best to swap it out.
Messiness –
This litter is a bit lighter than others so it is easier for your cat to accidentally track some of it out of the litter box. However, it does a pretty good job of not becoming pasty so it shouldn’t be sticking to your cat’s paws but instead simply be falling out near the litter box so a good litter mat would take care of this.
Despite the “dust-free” claim that Arm & Hammer makes there is still some minor dust that can form, but it is nothing major. The overall major lack of dust most likely has to do with the fact that this litter isn’t clay-based like most. Clump cleanup is easy, especially early on as this clumps into tight balls.
Value –
This litter is available in the mid-priced range. This puts it right in the middle in terms of litter costs when compared to other litters. Since it performs pretty well in all areas this seems like a fair price. If you happen to find it on sale, it becomes a great bargain.
Overall Rating –
The Arm & Hammer Clump & Seal Naturals Cat Litter Review earns 4 cats out of 5. A well-performing product across the board and a price point that is more than fair for what you are getting. There are definitely no major complaints with this litter.
