All Swheat Cat Litter Reviews
Updated by Brandon F. on June 5, 2020
This is a listing of all Swheat cat litters that have been reviewed and we also list what we think are the best Swheat cat litters with our internal ranking system. Swheat Cat Litter is a unique brand in that all of its products are comprised of wheat. Because of this, their cat litter sector is quite small and only has two products.
The inclusion of wheat comes with its pros and cons, but there is honestly nothing quite like it on the market so it checks the “unique” box. We would not be against recommending a trial with these just to experience something different and in the process, you and your cat might end up enjoying their performance.

A Product Built Around Wheat
As the name suggests, this cat litter company’s approach is making its products completely out of wheat. This is a very unique method of doing things and one that we haven’t seen performed with very many other companies. Sure, there are some other wheat-based cat litters on the market but for a company to dedicate all of its products to just using wheat certainly stands out.
Whether or not you are a fan of wheat-based cat litters, you can tell that a company that directs all of its resources towards a single product type most likely has a better understanding of the ins and outs of that material than anyone else on the market. Because of this, if you are interested in trying out wheat cat litters you should consider giving Swheat a shot because it is their bread and butter.
All Natural All The Time
Most cat litters available are not all-natural. Examples of this include clay and crystal products, which make up a vast majority of litters available. Even other examples that include natural ingredients such as wood or paper can oftentimes have non-natural ingredients also added to improve performance. For those that are after a strictly organic and eco-friendly litter material then Swheat is just for you. Per Swheat’s website: “sWheat Scoop is farmer grown, ground up and then bagged for purchase. It’s that simple.”
A Nice Variety of Sizes
Most people when thinking of wheat would typically imagine the lightweight material that is used every day in a variety of non-pet applications. Also, it is hard to picture a large, heavy container of wheat-based cat litter. While this might be nice to those with a single cat or don’t want or need to deal with the burdensome task of carrying around a heavy cat litter container, it might also be inconvenient for those with a busier cat household and who would prefer to purchase in bulk for the sheer convenience as well as cost-saving benefits.
Swheat can appeal to both groups with its wide range of product sizes. These sizes go from the small and compact 7-pound bag up to the large 40-pound container. This means that there should be a size for just about everyone.
Very Affordable Pricing
Let’s face it: eco-friendly cat litters can be quite expensive. It is simply the price you sometimes have to pay to get something that typically has higher overhead and increased processing requirements vs. a conventional clay litter. In many cases, this premium you have to pay will bump up the product to a price point that simply isn’t practical for many people’s pet budget.
This doesn’t allow them to try out the many benefits of an all-natural cat litter despite wanting to. With Swheat, you don’t have to worry about this, as their products come in being not only significantly cheaper than many of their all-natural competitors but also being relatively affordable overall. In some cases you can even find their product in our Budget price tier, making them among the most affordable on the market! This truly is an impressive accomplishment for being an all-natural litter.

Swheat Scoop Multi-Cat
We can definitely notice an improved performance in the odor control and clumping departments when compared to the standard Swheat cat litter. However, the granules are still sized so that the clumps that form at relatively soft and tracking is also a significant issue. In addition, the price seems to be a bit higher than its sister products online. It is available in 7, 14, 25, and 40-pound bags, is comprised of wheat, and is available in the mid-priced tier.
Pros: Litter smell is subtle, does a good job of locking in feces smells
Cons: Strong ammonia smell can come out from urine, clumps are somewhat weak, tracking is a concern
Swheat Scoop Original
The wheat aspect really struggles here. The clumps are simply too soft, cat odors are released very quickly and easily, and the dust levels are higher than we would like to see. Thankfully it is pretty affordable but even then we can’t recommend it unless you are dead set on trying out a wheat-based cat litter. It is available in 7, 14, 25, and 40-pound bags, is comprised of wheat, and is available in the budget to mid-priced tiers.
Pros: Enjoyable subtle litter smell, not much dust, acceptable price
Cons: Clumps take a long time to harden and fall apart, becomes very stinky when exposed to moisture, tracks easily
