All Jonny Cat Cat Litter Reviews
Updated by Brandon F. on May 21, 2020
This is a listing of all Jonny Cat cat litters that have been reviewed and we also list what we think are the best Jonny Cat cat litters with our internal ranking system. Jonny Cat is a relatively small company that offers only a handful of products. These products all center around conventional usage of clay cat litter and come in both clumping as well as non-clumping, scoopable offerings.
While there aren’t a lot of bells and whistles associated with these products, they still clump quite well overall (when applicable) and come at an acceptable price. Those with cats that have sensitive allergies or have more exotic requirements such as paw-sensitive granules or want to go a more natural route such as wood or corn ingredients may want to shop elsewhere but for those who are looking for a simple clay litter then one of these products might work for you.

A Unique Twist on Clay
One of the more specialized details about Jonny Cat cat litter is that it uses clay, which is the most well-known and conventional litter material used and often takes out a common feature in clay litters: the clumping ability. While there are plenty of non-clumping clay products on the market, there aren’t any other companies that we have come across that deal as aggressively in non-clumping clays as Jonny Cat.
While some people may scoff at this idea, there is an audience of people who prefer non-clumping ability in their cat litters. This is typically due to simply not wanting to have to deal with the manual removal of cat waste. Instead, these owners would simply prefer to dump out the litter contents when it is exhausted and replace them with fresh granules.
It also shows us that Jonny Cat is confident that their product is capable of both retaining cat waste liquids and more importantly keeping the cat odors in check for a suitable period since they don’t need to include clumping in their granules. That being said, they do still offer a few clumping products for those that want to retain this feature.
A Simple Approach
Jonny Cat is also very straightforward in their product lines. They don’t have a wide range of exotic materials that they used. Many other companies will have litters made of wheat, corn, crystals, wood, and even grass. Jonny Cat primarily uses one ingredient: clay. And to assist with odor-fighting they will also sometimes incorporate fruit and vegetable extracts into the clay as well.
This “keep it simple” approach means that they feel that they have a product that will be adequate without the use of tons of other materials and components, and this can also help to reduce to likelihood of strong aromas that might turn off your cat, and also can potentially keep the asking price down. Sometimes the simplest approach is the best and Jonny Cat tests that theory.
Nice Range of Sizes
As we all know, clay can be quite heavy, particularly in the larger bags of cat litter. For many, it can be difficult to transport and store such a large bag. However, there are still those who would prefer to purchase in bulk since they have multiple cats and go through litter more quickly, or simply because they want to save some money.
Either way, this company should have a product that aligns with your wants. Their litter is available in bags ranging from 10 to 40 pounds, which is a pretty nice range considering their limited product offerings.
Options for Those on a Budget
One of the secondary benefits of going with straightforward clay without tons of other bells and whistles is the nice cost savings you see. Since clay is typically one of the most affordable litter materials available, it means that the consumer can enjoy very reasonable prices on their products.
Since Jonny Cat is a smaller company, however, there can be quite a bit of range on their asking prices depending on where you look so it is important to shop around. But some of their products can fall towards being some of the most affordable on the market.
Have Their Hands in Other Products
Another cool fact about Jonny Cat is that they also deal with other cat litter-related products such as disposable cat trays and litter liners. This means that they could potentially see what is necessary and also what is not needed in a litter from a slightly different perspective since they make products that also work with litter from an alternate perspective.
For example, in dealing with litter liners, they might have discovered that a particular type of clay doesn’t perform as well on their liners as others or is messier. These types of findings and tweaks can help them stand out from their competition.

Jonny Cat Complete
Despite not being a clumping litter in the sense we are used to, this product does a great job of locking in cat odors for long periods of time. The proprietary system in place is working like a charm and it is available at what we consider a very fair price. It is available in 10 and 20-pound bags, is comprised of clay, and is a budget-price litter.
Pros: Great price, litter smell isn’t overpowering, quickly puts out cat odors
Cons: A little dusty
Jonny Cat Fragrance Free
This product is able to take care of cat waste smells without the need for artificial perfumes. The lack of dust and minimal tracking is nice, too. That being said, it can be quite expensive due to difficult availability. If you can find it for cheaper it is a good buy but definitely shop around. It is available in 10 and 20-pound bags, is comprised of clay, and is available in the premium-price tier.
Pros: Very little litter smell, blocks cat odors for up to a week, tracking isn’t an issue
Cons: A little on the expensive side
Jonny Cat Original
This product is pretty average at best. The price can be quite high, so we aren’t sure if we can justify it over the many other clay litters on the market that are much more affordable. The asking price you find on this litter will dictate whether it is a buy or a pass from us. It is available in 10, 20, and 40-pound bags, is comprised of clay, and is available in the premium-price area.
Pros: Hides cat odors pretty well, low maintenance
Cons: Somewhat expensive for non-clumping litter, quite dusty
