Updated by Brandon F. on May 15, 2020
This is a listing of all Feline Pine cat litters that have been reviewed and we also list what we think are the best Feline Pine cat litters with our internal ranking system. Feline Pine cat litter has been around since the early 90s but have decided to keep their offering small, with their two products simply being “clumping” and “non-clumping”.
What makes them unique is that the litter is made of all-natural pine. Pine is a unique material in that it has embedded clumping and odor control tendencies. It will be refreshing in smell and also being more environmentally friendly. The results of using pine might be perfect for some and for others it might be missing some key attributes. Therefore, we encourage that people give one of their two products a go and see if they align with what you and your cat(s) need.

A Unique Approach to Cat Litter
As their name suggests, Feline Pine’s litter is based on one core material: pine. Most people don’t automatically associate pine or wood in general with cat litter, but Feline Pine is attempting to break out of that assumption.
They are confident that by using pine they will still meet the wants and needs of cat owners in providing a product that can handle cat waste smells while also being low maintenance and easy on the wallet.
All-Natural and Nothing Else
Feline Pine takes an all-natural stance, in that they avoid using harsh and artificial chemicals and perfumes in their product. They let the natural pleasant smell and odor-fighting capabilities of pine do all the talking, and they don’t feel that they need to add additional fragrances to achieve their goal.
This is truly a rare approach in the litter industry, as many other companies have felt it necessary to add artificial ingredients to their litter recipe to increase the performance attributes of it. It also goes to show how effective Mother Nature’s product can be if taken advantage of properly.
No New Trees Were Harmed
Some people might initially think that in making Feline Pine products, the company is going out and cutting down trees just for this purpose. This is not the case, as all of their pine comes from kiln-dried shavings reclaimed from lumber production. In other words, they are simply utilizing the waste product that is made when the trees are being processed for other things.
So you can rest assured in knowing that by purchasing a Feline Pine litter you aren’t harming any additional trees, and are making a tree that was already being chopped down go much farther in its many benefits.
Huge Range of Sizes
Despite only using a single material, Feline Pine has a pretty nice range in their available package sizes. They vary from 8 pounds up to 40 pounds. This means that no matter if you have a single cat and don’t go through a lot of litter in a given period or you have a multi-cat family and need to purchase larger supplies of litter for convenience, Feline Pine has you covered.
A Lightweight Approach
An added benefit of using pine over conventional materials such as clay or crystals is that wood is much lighter. This makes lugging a bag of this product or emptying a litter box that is full of this product much easier since you aren’t straining as much with the weight. I
n fact, pine shavings are one of the lightest litter components that we have come across, and you will be amazed at the difference when comparing a typical bag of clay litter to a bag of this. And don’t let the light weight fool you: a bag of Feline Pine will last just as long if not longer than a comparably-sized bag of another litter material.
Great Price
Another consistent attribute seen in pine-related products is their great price. Feline Pine’s products typically are among the most affordable on the market in regards to price per pound, making them a good option for those trying to stick to a tight cat litter budget. This is a refreshing change from many of the other all-natural components that are on the market, as they tend to be quite expensive.
Clumping or Non-Clumping? Not a Problem.
Despite their product range being a bit small, Feline Pine does offer both clumping and non-clumping products. This is great as some people would enjoy the additional odor-fighting and longevity benefits of using a clumping litter while others would prefer the low-maintenance benefit of non-clumping litter.

Cat Litters Reviewed: Clumping and Non-Clumping
Range of Sizes Available: 8 to 40 pounds
Types of Material Used: Pine
Price Range: Budget
Feline Pine Non-Clumping
While the price is fantastic on this product, there are some issues with its ability to fight cat odors particularly after a couple of days. In addition, it can be a bit messy when exposed to fluids, but for the price it can be somewhat overlooked. It is available in 20 and 40-pound bags, is comprised of pine, and is available in the budget-price range.
Pros: Great price, enjoyable litter smell, great moisture absorption
Cons: Can’t handle multiple cats, bad tracking
Feline Pine Clumping
Overall this product is rather messy but thankfully that is its only major flaw. The clumping ability is not bad and the odor control is acceptable and that, coupled with the fantastic price, makes it a soft buy if you are in the market for a more eco-friendly cat litter. It is available in 8 and 14-pound bags, is comprised of pine, and is available in the budget price range.
Pros: Clumps harden quickly, wood excels at soaking up moisture, nice pine smell, decent price
Cons: Tracking is an issue, very dusty
