This is our Feline Pine Non-Clumping Cat Litter Review. Feline Pine Non-Clumping cat litter is made from 100% pine in the form of tiny pellets that act like sponges for moisture that is exposed to them. Also, the absorption is advertised as happening extremely quickly meaning that there is less of a chance of tracking and a messy litter box. There are no harsh chemicals added and rather the power of the pine itself will help combat the pungent cat waste odors. This low-dust product comes in 20 and 40-pound bags.
Who This Cat Litter is Intended For
This litter is intended for those who enjoy going with a more natural approach by using pine. They will typically only have a single cat and if they have more than one they should have multiple litter boxes in their house. Also, they opt to not need clumping abilities but still want good odor control performance. Finally, they are looking for a product that is quite affordable.
What Makes This Cat Litter Unique
This product is special because it tries to be mainstream in the eco-friendly litter category while maintaining a low price. Furthermore, it advertises having great odor control without having to implement clumping, which can oftentimes be a very difficult task to achieve. It doesn’t utilize any sort of harsh chemical fragrances and instead believes that the simple power of the pine itself will be enough.
Clumping Ability – N/A
This product is not intended to clump. Rather, the pine will absorb the fluids and hold it in until it is time to replace the litter. This doesn’t have quite the impact of conventional clumping but at least it is something. But for many of you that value clumping for the added convenience, this may be a dealbreaker.
Scent –
The pine smell is quite enjoyable and not overpowering at all. Most cats and owners alike will prefer this litter smell over that of many conventional litters that utilized powerful artificial perfumes. Since this isn’t a clumping litter, it combats cat waste smells by sapping it of its moisture instead of encasing it in litter granules.
Overall, this litter does an OK job at this, but if more than one cat is using the litter box the performance falls drastically. Also, there is no set time for when to replace the litter. Rather you simply use it until things start to smell bad. This means there can be quite a bit of variance in how long a box will last and ultimately how long a bag will last.
Messiness –
The pine tracks pretty badly. Furthermore, the exposed fluids will break down the pine product into a sawdust-like material that can also track easily and also sticks to cat fur. When this sawdust gets further overwhelmed with waste it creates a sort of sticky sawdust that can be quite annoying to deal with.
Thankfully you won’t have to go in and try to pick through this regularly: you will simply dump the whole box and start from scratch. But imagine your cat having to walk through this beforehand? This problem because very major in busier litter boxes so we recommend leaving it to single-cat applications.

This product is currently available online in the budget-price range. This is a very attractive price point for a non-clay-based cat litter.
Overall Rating –
The Feline Pine Non-Clumping Cat Litter Review earns 3 out of 5 cats. There are some issues with this product that range from potential odor control problems to the mess that the pine can form when it breaks down, but the price is so good that it is still worth checking out for those that are more concerned with the impact on your pocketbook. Also, it is refreshing to have an approach that is environmentally friendly and doesn’t have all of the harsh chemicals that are common in many clay litters.
