A Proven Track Record
As mentioned above, when you have been in the litter game as long as Cat’s Pride, you have a good understanding of what it takes to stand out from the competition. Very few of their competitors can say that they have been around as long, and this gives Cat’s Pride a strategic advantage.
They have learned strategic advantages and manufacturing secrets that you only learn over time, and they have also been able to chase down the best clay for this litter. You can rest assured knowing that any product you purchase from them is going to have those decades of experience ingrained into it.
A Huge Selection of Products
One thing that you will quickly notice with Cat’s Pride is their huge selection of cat litter products. They are one of the largest companies that we review in terms of their number of products. Despite being large in number, they do a very good job of spanning various applications and target audiences.
They have categories dedicated to both clumping and non-clumping varieties, litters that are fragrance-free, and some that are injected with artificial perfumes, and products that are intended for single-cat and also multi-cat litter boxes. They uniquely approach each of these products, making sure to optimize their features and performance attributes to that particular audience.
A Foundation Built On Clay
A vast majority of Cat’s Pride litters are clay-based. We have seen a lot of other companies experiment with a wide variety of materials including various eco-friendly components, but this company has decided to keep things simple and focus on clay.
While some might look at this as them not being willing to branch out, we feel that they think they have a system and a recipe that works and they want to build on that rather than venturing into areas that they may not be as familiar with. It also gives owners and cats who enjoy the many benefits of clay litters a vast array of clay-based products to choose from that still manage to have the individual variables that make them special
Also, despite using clay, Cat’s Pride has a nice variety of “lightweight” options, that promise to have the many benefits of clay while being significantly lighter than much of its competition. This is a huge selling point since lugging heavy boxes and bags of clay cat litter around can be quite the workout.
Many Products Designed for Multi-Cat Boxes
Cat’s Pride has a lot of products that are designed to handle the challenging demands of multi-cat litter boxes. This is likely due to their decision to stick with clay, which traditionally can handle busier litter boxes much better than most of the other litter materials on the market. Because of this, if you are struggling to find a litter that can handle your high-traffic boxes, Cat’s Pride has several products that might meet your needs.
Affordable Options
The fact that Cat’s Pride is an established company and also that they primarily use clay in the litters creates a perfect setup for having a variety of very affordable products. Typically companies that have been around for a while have a better grasp over the manufacturing and logistics necessary to make their product, so their overhead might be lower.
Also, clay is conventionally considered one of the most affordable litter materials. The combination means that many of Cat’s Pride’s products will be well into the budget tier and should be within the budget constraints of most cat owners.
Nice Variety of Package Sizes
Let’s face it: clay litters can be quite heavy. Thankfully, Cat’s Pride offers a nice variety of bag and box sizes, ranging from bags that weigh less than 10 pounds up to boxes that weigh 30 pounds.
This is helpful for owners who may struggle to carry heavy objects and/or only have a single cat while still meeting the demands and needs of someone who wants to buy larger quantities to take care of their multi-cat household.

Cat’s Pride Fresh & Light Ultimate Care Premium Unscented Hypoallergenic Multi-Cat
This product does everything well. The clumping is extremely good and the clumps stay hard for long periods of time, making them easy to dispose of. This performance could be justified in the premium price category but it coming in below that is an even better treat. We definitely recommend this. It is available in 12-pound jugs, is comprised of clay, and is available in the mid to premium-priced tier.

Cat’s Pride Fresh & Light Ultimate Premium Scented Multi-Cat

The price is more than justifiable for what you are getting with this product. It is available in 12-pound jugs, is comprised of clay, and is available in the mid to premium-priced tier.

Cat’s Pride Fresh & Light Fragrance-Free
This litter does everything quite well. Probably its best feature is its impressive clumps, but its odor-fighting and general clean up ease aren’t far behind. Depending on the price point this can range from being a good purchase to an awesome purchase. It is available in 15-pound jugs and 21, 28, and 30-pound boxes, is comprised of clay, and is available in the budget to mid-priced tiers.
Pros: Great clumping, pretty good at capturing cat waste smells, easy cleanup
Cons: Light tracking, multiple cats might overwhelm single litter box
Cat’s Pride Fresh & Clean
Typically non-clumping clay litters are pretty straightforward while having a reasonable price tag. The ability to fight odor is actually not bad on this product, and cleanup isn’t bad either. And the price is among the cheapest in the industry. We recommend this for those looking to spend that absolutely minimum on cat litter while still getting a functional product. It is available in 10, 20, and 30-pound bags, is comprised of clay, and is available in the budget-priced tier.
Pros: Acceptable perfume smell, not overly dusty, extremely affordable
Cons: Odors aren’t locked in
Cat’s Pride Lightweight Scoopable Unscented
An acceptable cat litter that trades off increased dust levels and lower-quality clumps for lightweight attributes and no strong litter perfumes. It is a soft recommendation depending on your specific needs but there are better performers out there. It is available in 10-pound jugs.
Pros: No powerful litter smells
Cons: Cat smells easily kicked up, dusty, on the expensive side for non-clumping litters
Cat’s Pride Scoopable Unscented
This litter has great clumping and it can handle cat waste odors without relying on powerful perfumes. However, the dust levels are quite high and it is more expensive than quite a few other clay litters on the market. It is available in 12-pound jugs and is in the mid-price tier.
Pros: Solid clumping, Flush-friendly, No strong litter odor
Cons: Noticeable tracking and dust levels, Somewhat expensive for clay litter
Cat’s Pride Scoopable Scented
The strong points of this litter are its clumping and ability to lock in odor, but it does have some issues. It can be quite messy due to clumps falling apart as well as dust. It is not an awful choice but there are better picks out there in this crowded price range. It is available in 10 and 14-pound jugs, 10 and 20-pound boxes, and 22-pound canisters, is comprised of clay, and is available in the mid-priced tier.
Pros: Quite good at clumping, good job at controlling odors for a couple of days
Cons: Extremely dusty, easily tracked out of box
Cat’s Pride Complete Multi-Cat Scoopable
The clumping is on point with this product, but it is quite messy and the smell can be rather off-putting to both you and your cat. If you are looking to be somewhat frugal and are primarily concerned with clumping ability at the cost of smell and cleanup then this might work for you. It is available in 14 and 20-pound jugs, is comprised of clay, and is available in the budget to mid-priced tier.
Pros: Fantastic clumping, only marginal tracking issues
Cons: Quite dusty, intense litter smell, feces smells tends to come out
Cat’s Pride Natural Scoopable
An acceptable budget choice for those who are prioritizing saving money above all else. While this product’s litter smell and ability to stop cat odors isn’t bad, it has some issues in just about every other area (except for price). It is available in 20-pound jugs, is comprised of clay and fruit/vegetable extract, and is available in the budget-priced tier.
Pros: Little litter smell, good at masking odors, relatively affordable
Cons: Clumps tend to fall apart, dusty, tracks easily
Cat’s Pride Complete Multi-Cat
This litter is very cheap but does an acceptable job of locking in odor, albeit it is a bit messier than we would have hoped. Being a non-clumping litter, you are giving up the convenience of clumping for a great asking price. It is available in 20-pound bags, is comprised of clay, and is available in the budget-priced tier.
Pros: Affordable, reasonable job of locking in odors despite not clumping, acceptable litter smell
Cons: Reacts poorly with cat urine

Cat’s Pride Fresh & Light All Day Odor Control
This product doesn’t do anything terribly, but it doesn’t really shine in any aspect either. Despite its decent price, there are still probably better options available online but this product can work in a pinch. It is available in 12-pound jugs, is comprised of clay, and is available in the budget to mid-priced tiers.
Pros: Good job of masking cat odors, pretty affordable
Cons: Questionable clumping, rather strong scent, extremely dusty

Cat’s Pride Natural
This product is somewhat underwhelming. It handles cat wastes decent enough, but can fall apart after short periods of time and it is also rather messy. For what you are getting the price could also be a bit lower. It is available in 10 and 20-pound bags, is comprised of clay, and is available in the mid-priced tier.
Pros: No powerful litter smells
Cons: Cat smells easily kicked up, dusty, on the expensive side for non-clumping litters
