This is our Cat’s Pride Fresh & Light Fragrance-Free Cat Litter Review.  Cat’s Pride Fresh & Light Fragrance-Free is formulated for multiple cats as a scoop litter that will not agitate sensitive allergies for both the cats as well as the owners.  Made with no perfumes or dyes, this product still guarantees good odor elimination.  Cat’s Pride promises that the litter is 99% dust-free during use and all of this comes in a package that is 25% lighter than conventional clay scoopables.  Available in a 15-pound jug and 21, 28, and 30-pound boxes.

Who This Cat Litter is Intended For

This cat litter is intended for busy litter boxes that could have three or more cats using them, but that still expects to have good odor control and even beyond that have a refreshing scent.  It is designed to try to be compatible with cats and owners, even ones that might have sensitive allergies while still being a clay product.  Finally, it is quite affordable so it is a good target product for those on a tight budget for their pet supplies.

What Makes This Cat Litter Unique

This product is unique in that it tries to meet the difficult requirements that fall on a busy litter box, all the while doing so with a product that smells nice, uses no perfumes or dyes, and is lighter in weight than a majority of conventional clay litters.  Beyond this, it tries to minimize dust and tracking (which can be common in the more lightweight litters) and still be affordable to most people.

Clumping Ability – 

This litter clumps extremely well.  The clumps form small hard balls that are easy to identify and even easier to remove.  The clumps also manage to stay quite hard over several days which means that you don’t have to constantly monitor the box in fear of the clumps falling back apart.  Being a lighter litter, the clumps themselves are quite light and also use relatively little litter so a package of this stuff should last for a while, even in a busier litter box.

Scent – 

There is only a very subtle scent to the litter itself and, for the most part, the smell is quite mild and accepted by most cats, even ones with very sensitive allergies.  This likely goes back to Cat’s Pride’s decision to not use dyes or perfumes in their product.  It also does a decent job of capturing urine and feces smells and locking them in for several days.

If multiple cats are using it there may be some slight smells that come out, especially without the perfume added to mask it, but overall it is nothing major and we feel it lives up to its promise of handling a multi-cat box.

Messiness – 

Overall there is very little dust associated with this product, despite it being relatively lightweight.  It does tend to stick to cats somewhat so there might be some light tracking involved.  However, since the clumps generally stay together it is usually dry and easy to clean up.  You don’t have to deal with the “caking” of litter onto your cat’s paws and the cat litter box like we have seen in other litters of this type.  That is a welcome change!

The Cat’s Pride Fresh & Light Fragrance-Free Cat Litter Review earns 4 out of 5 cats.  This litter is good to very good across the board and can handle a busy litter box quite well.  The bright point is the hard clumps it forms and the other aspects aren’t far behind.  Depending on how much you end up paying could dictate whether this is a good purchase or a great purchase.  But there is no denying that potential of this cat litter.
