Who This Cat Litter is Intended For

This cat litter is intended for households that have either a single cat or multiple cats and prefer a clay-based product that is effective at odor control while also having a perfume scent.  Also, they and their cats prefer a relatively lighter product that still can keep up with the conventionally heavier litters that are available.  Finally, they are a bit flexible on price and willing to pay a bit more for a product that works well.

What Makes This Cat Litter Unique

This cat litter is unique in that it tries to have advanced clumping and odor control while being a relatively lightweight product and also utilizing a scent that Cat’s Pride believes isn’t overpowering and that most owners and cats will enjoy.  The lightweight litters can often time give up important performance when compared to their heavier rivals, but this product strives to change that stereotype.

Clumping Ability – 

This product clumps quite well.  The clumps are hard and easy to dispose of and overall they use very little product which means a box will last for a while.  The clumps tend to be in smaller, bead-like shapes which can make them a bit hard to spot, however.  Since this is a lighter litter that also means that the clumps are overall on the light side which is helpful as well.  Even in multi-cat boxes, the clumping performance is very good as long as the timely removal of the clumps is practiced.

Scent – 

There is a nice, light scent that is not overbearing for most.  However, it does still have a bit of artificialness that might get a bit dull after a while.  The litter does a good job of capturing the cat odors and since the clumps stay relatively hard there is not as much concern of breakage (which releases the odors) when compared to a lot of the competition.  In the case that a clump does break which can sometimes happen if it is moved too much, the odor that is released is typically re-captured relatively quickly.

Messiness – 

Despite the 99% dust-free claims, unfortunately, this Cat’s Pride product puts out quite a bit of dust.  It can make disposal quite laborious and your cat can easily track the dust outside of the box.  Also, tracking is a problem as well.  Due to the size and weight of the litter, it is very easy for pieces to get caught on your cat and be brought out from the box and in busier litter boxes the tracking can become a bit annoying.  Thankfully since most moisture is locked in, there aren’t as serious of issues of caking on the box or cat paws as other offerings.

This litter is available online in the mid to premium-priced area.  This is higher than a typical clay litter.  However, due to the great clumping and unique formula, the higher asking price is a bit more justified.

The Cat’s Pride Fresh & Light Ultimate Premium Scented Multi-Cat Cat Litter Review earns 4 out of 5 cats.  It has great clumping that efficiently uses litter, more than acceptable odor control, and the only complaint is a bit more tracking than we would like to see, but that is very common in lightweight litters.  The current price online for this product is more than acceptable for the performance and quality that you are getting.
