This is our Feline Pine Clumping Cat Litter Review. Feline Pine Clumping cat litter uses 100% natural pine to help neutralize strong odors on contact. The absorbent wood binds directly to harsh ammonia odors and is set up to clump directly to cat waste, making for easy daily or weekly maintenance. There are no harsh chemicals or preservatives added, and the lightweight material still manages to only produce marginal amounts of dust. It is available in 8 and 14-pound bags.
Who This Cat Litter is Intended For
This cat litter is intended for people who typically have single cats and who want the unique combination of using a pine-cased product while not giving up important attributes such as clumping. Also, they are their cats may be sensitive to harsh chemicals or have allergies, so this all-natural product might be the solution. Finally, this is a natural litter that is designed for those on a tight budget, coming in being very reasonably priced.
What Makes This Cat Litter Unique
This product is unique in that it tries to combine being wood-based with having common attributes present in clay litters such as clumping and good odor control. This hits a unique niche of people who want to be more eco-friendly while not giving up the necessary performance. Also, the fact that Feline Pine tries to do this while keeping the product affordable is very special and not commonplace.
Clumping Ability –
The clumps that form are not the hardest out there, but they harden relatively quickly and are firm enough to be manageable. The good aspect is that just about all fluids are soaked up into the wood like a sponge, so there are no issues in regards to the fluids pooling up or creating a cake-like mess. Keep in mind that if you try to introduce this to a busier litter box it may easily become exhausted when dealing with solid waste, and the clumps may cause you to go through a bag rather quickly.
Scent –
There is no major scent associated with this litter other than the vague smell of pine you will get a whiff of when you move the product around. Overall it does a decent job of locking in cat waste smells as long as the clumps hold up, but in the case that they do fall apart the cat waste smells will be kicked back into the air temporarily. Ammonia smells from urine are kept in check thanks to the sawdust-like consistency. This is a good product for cats that tend to have a lot of ammonia odor in their urine.
Messiness –
This is a very messy litter. Tracking is very bad and dust is a concern as well. Since the consistency is that of sawdust you can easily imagine how this stuff could get kicked out and tracked out of the box. Specifically, in regards to clump removal, they stay together for the most part. Since they are on the softer side do take a bit more care in removing them, however, or else they could potentially break down into a messy concoction. Despite the relatively soft clumps, cat litter box wall caking isn’t a big concern.

Online prices for this litter have been seen to be in the upper budget-price range. This is actually quite good for an all-natural cat litter and definitely stands out some from the crowd.
Overall Rating –
The Feline Pine Clumping Cat Litter Review earns 3 out of 5 cats. No major negatives are present other than the messy aspect, which can be quite frustrating especially if you try to implement this in a multi-cat household. However, the clumping and odor control is good enough that, coupled with the pretty good price, make this an alright option if you are looking for a more environmentally-friendly wood litter product that has some benefits that are not always present in the eco-friendly products.
