Advertised Product Description
This is our Arm & Hammer Multi-Cat Unscented Cat Litter Review. Arm & Hammer Multi-Cat Strength Unscented Clumping Litter is intended for households that have multiple cats. The extra-strength odor eliminators helped to subdue the intense and daunting smells that can arise from having multiple cats.
This is accomplished with Ammonia Odor Block formula, which combines powerful baking soda crystals with ammonia odor neutralizers. The scent-free litter is intended for cats and owners that may be fragrant sensitive. The clay-based litter is stressed as being low tracking and dust-free. Available in 20, 26.3, and 28-pound boxes.
Who This Cat Litter is Intended For
This cat litter is directed towards those with multiple cat households that experience busy litter boxes and need extra effective odor protection. However, they or their cats are turned off by the smell of strong perfumes oftentimes found in litters. Also, this litter is a good choice for people who are on a tight budget as it is very affordable.
What Makes This Cat Litter Unique
This product is special in that it is targeted at tackling the challenging task of a multiple cat litter box without the assistance of perfumes or strong chemical fumes. This is a common tactic used by litter companies, as the perfumes can help to mask the cat waste smells. Not only that, but it does this while still advertising conventional positives that clay litters strive for such as good clumping and low tracking. Finally, it does all of this at an affordable price.
Clumping Ability –
This product does a pretty good job of clumping. There can be minor issues of clumps falling apart during cleaning but it is comparable to other products on the market. The clumps could be a bit harder, but the relative softness means that less of the product cements itself to the side of the box.
However, if proper maintenance isn’t performed, especially with a family of many cats, the litter can turn into an almost muddy concoction and become a nightmare to clean. So it goes without saying that proper cleaning habits need to be exercised. This is sort of obvious, but typically with multi-cat oriented litters, we would hope there would be a bit more resilience.
Scent –
Since this is a scentless litter there are no concerns about having artificial perfume scents. This could be a good thing if those scents are a turn-off or you or your pets are sensitive to smell but it also means that anything you do smell from the litter box probably isn’t going to be a pleasant smell.
Once the clumps harden this product does a good job of “locking in” the cat smells, even when there are multiple waste areas. Even in the case where a clump is broken apart, the baking soda does an acceptable job of still capturing any foul smells.
Messiness –
The level of messiness with this product is dictated by the owner’s persistence in cleaning. There is very little dust which agrees with Arm & Hammer’s advertising. Tracking issues are about average but easily controlled. However, if the box isn’t cleaned regularly this litter goes downhill fast. It turns into basically a muddy sludge that sticks to everything and tracks everywhere. Since this is intended for multi-cat households, unfortunately, the product falls apart relatively quickly.

This litter can be yours in the budget price range, making it a good value and it is at a price point we like to see. No matter what your budget is, this cat litter should be doable.
Overall Rating –
The Arm & Hammer Multi-Cat Unscented Cat Litter Review earns 3.5 cats out of 5. This product is generally “decent” across the board with no major issues. For being advertised as multi-cat friendly we wish it had a bit more “oomph” behind it, especially in the clumping department, but the price is reasonable enough to not warrant a lot of complaining.
