This is our Nature’s Miracle Intense Defense Fragrance-Free Clumping Cat Litter Review. Intense Defense Fragrance-Free Clumping cat litter combines powerful odor control technology with the intense performance of bentonite to help maximize odor protection. This formula is advertised as clumping very well all the while being super absorbent. It is great for multi-cat boxes and is also 99% dust-free. It is available in 20 and 28-pound boxes.
Who This Cat Litter is Intended For
This cat litter is intended for those single or multi-cat litter boxes that have struggled with odor control using other products. Nature’s Miracle has optimized this litter to focus on maximum odor control. This product is good for those who enjoy conventional clay clumping litters but they or their cats are not fans of intense and artificial perfumes that are common in many litters. Also, the target audience is people who are somewhat on a budget and looking for an affordable litter that meets their needs.
What Makes This Cat Litter Unique
This cat litter is unique in that it tries to tackle odor and even advertises itself as being an aggressive odor solution but doesn’t feel the need to have to utilize perfumes. This is somewhat of a rarity in the litter world, as including a masking perfume is a common tactic that manufacturers use to try to help cover up the pungent smell of cat waste.
Clumping Ability –
This litter is very good at clumping. The clumps are hard and thoroughly encase all waste and it stays that way for many days. The clumps can be on the larger side, however, so that means you might go through a box quicker than you had hoped. We have seen that even in busier litter boxes the clumps, for the most part, stay in place, which is nice.
Scent –
Despite being fragrance-free, there is a typical clay-like smell to the litter. It is about average in intensity and most cats and owners shouldn’t mind. In regards to the odor-blocking ability, it does a great job of locking away the smell for several days, even for busy litter boxes. This is likely a combination of the bentonite as well as the great clumping ability of the litter. We were impressed with the lack of ammonia odor that comes from cat urine while using this litter.
Messiness –
Cleanup is a breeze. The clumps stay hard and are easy to identify and remove and most cat litter is absorbed into the granules without issue. The litter is extremely absorbent and unless you are very lazy and let the litter box be overwhelmed then you shouldn’t have to worry about the product falling apart into a sticky paste that can be hard to clean. The dust, for the most part, is in check and because of all of this, there is little tracking to be concerned about.
Value –
Expect to pay in the budget to the mid-price range for this product online. This about in line with what we expect for most clay-based cat litters.
Overall Rating –
Nature’s Miracle Intense Defense Fragrance-Free Clumping Cat Litter Review earns 4 out of 5 cats. We are impressed with this litter. It has rock hard clumps that last for days and the smell isn’t too overbearing nor the dust issue. It is powerful enough to do the job for multiple days so constant maintenance isn’t necessary. And on top of this, it comes at a great price. We recommend this Intense Defense offering.
