Who This Cat Litter is Intended For

This cat litter is designed for cats who have had a history of respiratory problems or that struggle with allergies from the dust of many conventional types of litter.  However, they and their owners wish to stay with a clay material and the various benefits that it can have such as clumping, good odor control, and reasonable prices.  Other target audiences are those that don’t enjoy harsh perfumes and also litter boxes that might see more than one cat regularly.

Clumping Ability – 

This litter clumps extremely well.  It forms some of the hardest and toughest clumps we have ever come across.  This is especially helpful for hypo-allergenic cats since when clumps break down it can kick up all of the dust, fumes, and chemicals generally associated with cat litter back into the air and near your cat.

The clumps also stay hard for long periods which makes identification and cleanup a breeze.  The litter itself is absorbent enough to take on just about all of the moisture that comes its way.  Another benefit is that the clumps that do form are quite small, which means a package of this product should last much longer.

Scent – 

The clay in this litter is a little on the stinky side.  It may be the price you pay for having extra effective clumping ability as well as avoiding the usage of a lot of conventional chemicals and components that other brands generally use to help mask the litter smell.  That being said, it still does a pretty good job of covering up the cat waste smells since the clumps are so durable.  These tight clumps lock in the smell for days out a time and do an especially good job with the urine which means ammonia smells should not be a major concern.

Messiness – 

As advertised, there is very little dust associated with this product.  This is very important for the target market since dust can kick up the allergies of sensitive cats.  This, coupled with the fact that that removing the clumps is literally like picking up rocks means that this is overall a very low-effort litter to maintain.  Tracking is about average for clay litters.  You might find a stray litter granule laying around here or there but it is nothing overly concerning.

Value – 

This is available online in the budget-price area.  This is a great asking price and it gives this litter some bonus points in our ranking system.

The Precious Cat R&R Respiratory Relief Clumping Clay Cat Litter Review earns 4 out of 5 cats.  If only it didn’t have such an intense smell!  Honestly, that can be overlooked because the ability of this product to handle waste and lock in the smells for days is quite impressive.  This is a great product for those cats with respiratory issues but beyond that, it is just a great-performing litter all around.  Add to that the fact that it is extremely affordable and you have a definite buy in our book.
