This is our Scoop Away Super Clump Scented Cat Litter Review. Scoop Away Super Clump Scented cat litter provides strong clumping and powerful odor control that exists along with its refreshing, clean scent. It promises strong clumps that make cleanup a breeze and comes with Ammonia Shield to help destroy any odors present while also helping to stop any future bacterial odors from forming. This product is available in 20 and 25-pound boxes.
Who This Cat Litter is Intended For
This cat litter is designed for those owners (typically of a single cat) who value great clumping that lasts for a long time. This can be handy for those who have a busy schedule and can’t always check their cat’s litter box promptly. Also, they wish for this clumping to come via a conventional clay litter that doesn’t have a ton of extra ingredients. Furthermore, to assist with odor control they and their cat do not mind artificial scents. Finally, to achieve this they are willing to spend about mid-range for a product that works.
What Makes This Cat Litter Unique
This cat litter is unique because it prioritizes clumping over all other features. Most of the time we see odor control as being the primarily advertised benefit so it is interesting and somewhat refreshing to see Scoop Away think outside of the box a little on this product. Also, they believe that they can achieve this without reinventing the wheel, taking advantage of normal clay granules to achieve these results.
Clumping Ability –
This litter does a great job at clumping feces into small, hard balls that are easy to maintain and also stay hard for a while. However, it can struggle a bit more with urine as it seems to stick to already-made balls and make sort of a weird gooey consistency.
Thankfully despite this, the clumps still manage to stay in one piece most of the time and avoid falling apart and sticking to the walls of the box or even your cat. If you try to introduce this product to more than one cat sharing a litter box you mind find that this gooey mess can become a lot more frustrating.
Scent –
The scent associated with this litter works quite well: it isn’t overpowering and most cats and people tend to enjoy it. It also helps to mask subtle odors that might leak out. That being said, most of the time it isn’t necessary as the clumps do a good job of containing any smells and the occasional urine smell that pops up is short-lived and masked in no time. It will lock in these smells for several days at a time which is helpful for those who travel a lot and can’t check the litter box daily.
Messiness –
There is not nearly as much dust in this product as in other comparable ones which is refreshing. There is only minor tracking and the shape and weight of the litter make it difficult for it to stick to the cat’s hair or paws and be tracked out. Clumps are hard and easy to remove without much concern for them falling apart and making a mess. The only minor grievance is when the urine will sometimes stick to the clumps and can be somewhat sticky and hard to handle.
Value –
This product online is going in the mid-price tier generally. This is about average considering other clay cat litters. When taking into account the performance and odor control capabilities, this price is fair.
Overall Rating –
The Scoop Away Super Clump Scented Cat Litter Review earns 3.5 out of 5 cats. A solid option with minimal issues. The specific scenarios that clumping might struggle with are for the most part trumped by the great scent and easy cleanup. We enjoy the relatively long clump and odor life that this litter produces. The price is also in an area that is agreeable with most people’s wallets.
