This is our Tidy Cats 24/7 Performance Non-Clumping Cat Litter Review.  Tidy Cats 24/7 Performance Non-Clumping cat litter is a product designed for those who would rather avoid having to do the burdensome task of cleaning that cat’s litter box.  This special formula has an extended-release deodorizing system that helps to ensure longer litter life.  Also, it contains good absorption and odor control while being 99.6% dust free and low tracking.  This product is available in 20, 25, 30, 40, and 50-pound weave bags as well as a 10-pound paper bag.

Who This Cat Litter is Intended For

This cat litter is intended for those owners who are looking for a cat litter that can meet their odor demands at all times of the day and won’t weaken after just a couple of days.  They will typically have a single cat but can also have multiple cats depending on the scenario.

Also, they want to stick with a clay litter but don’t want or need the clumping ability that clay typically comes in.  Their cat doesn’t mind some artificial perfume added to the granules to assist with blocking odor, either.  Finally, they are trying to watch their pet budget and looking for something that is affordable but meets their wants and needs.

What Makes This Cat Litter Unique

This cat litter is unique because it attempts a pretty lofty task of being an effective odor blocker 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.  This can be difficult since litters are notorious for losing their potency after being used for a little while, and the fact that Tidy Cats feels that they can meet these needs without using clumping or exotic materials is quite impressive.

Clumping Ability – N/A

This product is not intended to clump.  Rather you are expected to change out the entire box at regular intervals.

Scent – 

There is very little scent associated with this litter, which is nice.  The modest smell means that it shouldn’t bother most cats.  It also does a good job of capturing in cat waste smells for a few days.  Since this litter is generally intended to be replaced at relatively short intervals this is all that it needs to be able to accomplish and it does a fine job of it.

Since it isn’t clumping, any exposed feces and especially urine will start to smell if left exposed.  This is more so true in multi-cat boxes so expect to either temporarily cover up waste or replace it in a timelier manner if you wish to completely avoid cat odors.  So the 24/7 exclamations that this product put out can be true but you will have to replace the litter pretty often.

Messiness – 

The dust level of this product is about on-par for a typical clay litter.  We would have liked to see it on the lower end of the spectrum since you will be pouring this a lot more than a clumping variety.  The granules are also on the smaller side and are prone to minor tracking as well.  Cleanup is pouring the entire batch out and replacing it so you don’t have to worry about digging for clumps.  For the most part, all moisture is locked into the litter and there is only minimal scraping and that is only typical if you have been negating regular litter box maintenance.

Value – 

Average online prices for this litter are generally in the budget-price area.  This is a very good asking price and allows us to more easily overlook some of the flaws.

Overall Rating – 

The Tidy Cats 24/7 Performance Non-Clumping Cat Litter Review earns 3 cats out of 5.  It doesn’t clump and can be a bit dusty, but it does a good enough job of locking in odors that we give it a soft recommendation, especially considering the good price.  We do wish that the full odor-blocking ability lasted a little bit longer but this shouldn’t be a huge issue unless you are trying to use this product in a very busy litter box.
